The plan to finish PTD2
We could be about 2 months (if no big delays happen) from the story of PTD2 to be finished. I have it all planned out in my head how this epic adventure will end. Not sure if many have noticed but PTD2 and PTD1 stories are very well connected. The conclusion to PTD2 will help to tie it all up nicely. Any predictions on how it might end and what will happen? Below you can see how all the updates will be spread out. This is just an approximation and these might change.

Weekly Progress

Thoughts on The World Tournament - With the World Tournament my intention is to make it really challenging and unique. The first thing is that you will only have a set number of items for each battle. So you will be limited to how many revives and heals you get from items. (You won't lose any items but will be given some for every fight automatically, once the fight is done you will get your regular items back).

Also every Round will have a rule for which Pokemon you can bring. For Round 1 You can only use Pokemon that share a type. So your whole party needs to have one type in common.

Other rounds will have rules like you can only bring a number of pokemon. Or you can only use attack of a certain type. Look forward to some challenges.

      • Fairy Blast (100%) - Fairy
      • Change in Attack Types (100%) - Attacks with projectiles that hit all in it's path (Fire Blast, Surf, Shadow Ball, etc) will do less damage after their first hit. They will now only hit each target twice once for 100% damage then once for 25%. So they can hit multiple targets but only twice each (100% and 25%)Each shoot of the attack will start at max damage then lower it's damage after each hit by 10% until it reaches 10% damage, it will get smaller with every hit.
      • Story Scene (100%) - The outcome of Gold vs Darkness
      • Add Scientist NPC that can give you vital information (similar to what I post here on the blog) for each World Tournament fight (100%)
      • Getting to this round unlocks a new level cap to 110 (100%) - After you beat Round 3, Prof Elm learns that pokemon can now level up to 110! I've always wanted to up the level cap from 100 to something higher ever since PTD1. I think this is a great chance to do this. In PTD2 you could get to level 100 from the beginning so there was never an update that included a new level cap. The fact that this fight only lets you bring 1 pokemon means that it's optional to level up your other pokemon. At level 110 pokemon will be able to learn special moves usually reserved for the move tutor, like Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon. Each type will learn a new move at level 110!
        • Battle Rule (100%) - You can bring only one pokemon. It can be any type and have any type of attacks.
        • New NPC Dialog (100%)
        • New Attacks (100%)
          • Darkness (100%) - Similar to Sunlight, there will be a meter that keeps track of the darkness of the fight. This meter starts at 0 and if it reaches 100 the corruption becomes too strong and you lose the fight. Celebi will pull you out just before that happens and bring you back to try the fight again (as he has been doing in the earlier fights when you lose). Unlike sunshine, weather effects won't change the amount of darkness. Darkness in this battle represents more like an aura rather than light. The way darkness will increase is by other enemies, either when they are present on the level or when you destroy them.
          • Shadow Voltorb's Explosion (100%) - In spite of potentially hurting it's allies Voltorb will cause heavy damage to the enemy of whoever makes it faint. Defeating it will increase Darkness by 30%.
          • Shadow Snorlax's Scared Thoughts (100%) - Snorlax is afraid of losing sleep so it greatly increases its defense and special defense up by 6 levels. Defeating it will decrease Darkness by 5%.
          • Shadow ?????'s Deadly Gust (100%) - ????? will launch a slow moving gust that can hit any unit on the map except itself, it follows your unit all over the map. If your unit leaves the map the gust will stand still and wait for your return. Every time this gust hits a unit Darkness is increased by 1%. This gust will do damage based on the value of Darkness. If Darkness is 10% this Gust will do 10% of the target's health in damage. (If Darkness is 0% the gust will do 1% damage). Defeating ????? will increase Darkness by 100%.  Defeating it before the waves are over will result in losing the level.
          • Shadow Misdreavus's Self Images (100%) - Every once in a while Misdreavus will create 2 other clones of itself with low health and high speed. Defeating the clones will reduce Darkness by 5%. Defeating the original will increase Darkness by 20%.
          • Shadow Wobbuffet's Counter Spin (100%) - Wobbuffet will stop and start spinning, while spinning all hits on Wobbuffet will be reflected back at it's attacker. Each hit reflected will decrease Darkness by 5%. Defeating Wobbuffet will increase Darkness by 5%.
        • Bug Fix 1 (100%) - Fixed a bug that would happened if you leveled up a Pancham without a full party.
        • New TM  for getting to Round 3 (100%)
          • Roar (100%)

              • New Attacks (100%) -
                • Sunlight (100%) - This is a new mechanic for the level. The level will start at 100% sunlight (Which is a maximum). Different things can reduce the sunlight. Each planted tree in the level will reduce the sunlight by 10%. Rain Dance will also reduce the sunlight by 10 25%. Sunny Day guarantees that the sunlight is always 100% while it is active. Sunlight will affect the enemy attacks in different ways. It will not affect your towers.
                • Fruit of Life (100%) - Trees planted around the level create fruits that buff and heal the enemy in different ways. Each tree blocks sunlight by a certain amount. The higher the sunlight the faster the fruit is created. If a tree is destroyed, it's trunk will fall on a nearby path, blocking the enemy and then destroying itself.
                • Sceptile's Tree Jump (100%) - Sceptile will gain a speed boost when it comes into contact with a tree. can jump to nearby Trees and keep jumping if the trees are close enough to quickly reach the candy.
                • Sceptile's Slice (100%) - Every once in a while Sceptile will spin around and send leaf blades from either side of the stage will slice up the whole stage, greatly damaging your tower and trees fallen tree trunks in the stage. The more Sunlight there is the faster this move will recharge.
                • Torterra Wagon (100%) - Torterra will carry smaller pokemon on it's back, when it is defeated the pokemon will come out and continue towards the candy. The more Sunlight there is the stronger the pokemon it can carry will be.

                • Simisage's Bitter Leaf (100%) - The pokemon that does the finishing blow on Simisage will be affected by Simisage's Bitter Leaf, lowering it's damage by 50% for a set amount of time. The amount of time is dependent on the Sunlight. The more Sunlight the more the bitter leaf effect will last.
                • Venusaur's Solar Beam (100%) - Venusaur unleashes a powerful solar beam that shoots at a target's direction. rotates around the level. The power and cooldown are affected by Sunlight. The greater the Sunlight the more power and less cooldown the attack has.
                • Venusaur's Plant Seed (100%) - Venusaur also spreads seed around the level that will grow trees. The seeds grow faster with more sunlight.

These scents will grow slowly, if none of your towers hit the scent it will continue to grow until it covers a large area the whole level. Once one of your towers hits it the scent will stop growing. Once the scent stops growing it will stay for a few seconds then leave the level. The scents will be of benefit to enemy units. The rate of growth of the scent will be based on Sunshine. The more Sunshine the faster the scent will grow.
